White poplars

White poplars or Gindoro (scientific name: Populus alba) is a cold-resistant deciduous trees of the family Salicaceae native to West Asia - South Europe. There is a rhombic pattern in the bark. The leaf table is dark green, but the leaves are covered with felt fluff and looks silver white. It is a dioecious strain. In the spring before the leaves develop, I will hang the caterpillar inflorescences from the axilla. Flowers become ears, neither flower nor sepals. Female flower is yellow green and it is about 5 cm in length and there are 2 stigma heads. 2 It bursts. Male flower stems are dark red and somewhat long, and there are 6 to 10 stamens. The fruits mature in June and add yellow-green fruits to inflorescence of about 10 cm. Leaves turn yellow in autumn. It was planted as a street tree after coming in the middle of Meiji era. There are Yamanarashi in the same genus.
