What is Thymus quinquecostatus

Thymus quinquecostatus (scientific name: Thymus quinquecostatus) is a creeping evergreen small shrub of the family Lamiaceae in the Japanese and Himalayas. It is Japan's only Thymus. The Japanese name spontaneously grows in Mt. Ibuki, and it depends on the scarlet on the leaves. In Hokkaido to Kyushu, it grows naturally in a sunny rocky ground of low to alpine mountains. The tree height is low enough to be considered a grass, and a floral scarlet floral bloom is made to cover the ground. There are about 350 varieties in the genus of thymus, in addition to this species, there are T. vulgaris and T. serpyllum.
