Menziesia multiflora

Menziesia multiflora 、Urajiro-Yoraku (scientific name:Menziesia multiflora) is a deciduous shrub belonging to the family Ericaceae. It grows naturally on wetlands and forest edges in the Pacific mountains of Honshu of Japan. From spring to summer, the inflorescences are extended from the stem, and several pink flowers are bundled in a bell shape and bloom downward. The tip of the flower splits 5 times and warps. It is similar to Enkianthus perulatus. Japanese name of the flower comes from the fact that the back of the leaf is white and the shape of the flower resembles an accessory of a Yoraku's buddha statue. Leaves that were green in spring turn yellow in autumn.
