Kagoshimako

Kagoshimako (Scientific name: Prunus mume 'Kagoshimako') is a cultivar of the small deciduous 'Japanese apricot (scientific name: Prunus mume) ' of the Rosaceae family. Its trunk is curved and its branches overhang to the side. In spring, before the leaves unfurl, it produces a dark red, flattened, medium-double flower.
