What is Lemon

Citron (scientific name: Citrus medica) is an evergreen shrub native to India, belonging to the family Rutaceae.
The fruit is larger and stouter than lemons (scientific name: Citrus limon).
The branches have thorns. The leaves are large and oblong. The inflorescence is composed of many five-petaled, aromatic, light purple flowers. The long ovoid fruit that follows the flowers has a thick skin, little flesh, and a sour taste. It is not suitable for eating raw, but the juice and rind are used for candying and flavoring. The fruit is also used in Jewish festival rituals.
It is known as a single parent of the lemon, and the lemon was created by crossing the citron with the bitter orange. This image was labeled as a Hawaiian lemon.
