What is Kinki-mamezakura

Kinki-mamezakura (scientific name: Cerasus incisa var. kinkiensis) is a small broad-leaved tree of the genus Prunus in the rose family Rosaceae. The Koshi no Higanzakura (Cerasusu x subhirtella 'Koshiensis') was created as an interspecific hybrid between this Kinki-mamezakura (P. incisa var. kinkiensis) and Edo Higan (Cerasus itosakura f. ascendens).
The tree is 9-10 m tall and produces single, bell-shaped, medium-sized flowers (2.5-3.5 cm in diameter) in late March with petal color ranging from red-purple to peach. It can be planted in the garden or in pots.
