Xyphidium caeruleum

Xyphidium caeruleum (scientific name: Xiphidium caeruleumb) is native to tropical America, and is a perennial plant in the family Haemodoraceae. In the place of origin, it grows naturally on the lowland forest edge. The flower stem is taken out from between the leaves, the cone inflorescence is extended from the axilla of the stem tip, and a white floret blooms.
The genus name "Xiphidium" means the Latin word "xiphoide" and the species means "coeruleum" (blue).
