Physostegia virginiana, or Hana Torano-o (scientific name: Physostegia virginiana) is a perennial plant belonging to the genus Pseudolysimachion of the family Plantaginaceae. In the rainy season to early autumn, small lip-shaped flowers bloom from the bottom of the flower spike. The basic flower color is pink, but light purple, white, and magenta are also available. The stem is square.
