What is Ezo-Kanzo

Ezo-Kanzo (scientific name: Hemerocallis dumortieri var. esculenta, synonym: Hemerocallis middendorffii var. esculenta) is a perennial plant in the family Xanthorrhoeaceae that produces yellow flowers in early summer in coastal and alpine meadows. Each of the three inner and outer flower clusters is usually a one-day flower. It is also called zen-teika or Nikkoukisuge. The former scientific name became Hemerocallis middendorffii var. esculenta synonym.
