Arpophyllum giganteum (Scientific Name: Arpophyllum giganteum) is a perennial herb in the genus Arpophyllum of the Orchidaceae family, native to Mexico to Central America, Colombia, Venezuela and Jamaica. It is a native epiphytic orchid. It produces densely growing slender valves from a creeping stem. A single leaf is attached to the tip of the bulb. The leaves are cortical, fleshy and elongated. In spring, small pink to red-purple flowers bloom densely on the flower stalks that emerge from the leaf stalks. In the same genus there is Arpophyllum cardinale.
