Gasteria batesiana, ox-tongue, cow-tongue or lawyer's tongue (Gasteria batesiana) is a species of evergreen perennial succulent plant in the family Asphodelaceae, native to South Africa. It is a spotted variety of Gasteria. The tongue-shaped leaf margins radiating from the base and the underside of the leaves have numerous white spines (red at the tips). In spring and summer, it produces vermilion tubular flowers that grow from the tips of the flower stalks in a raceme.
