Brillantaisia lamium

Brillantaisia lamium (scientific name: Brillantaisia lamium) is a non-hardy evergreen perennial herb native to central and western Africa, belonging to the genus Brillantaisia of the family Acanthaceae. It is known locally as a ranch wildflower. The stem cross section is square and upright, growing to 1.5 to 2 meters. The branches are branched at the top. The flowering period is obsessive, and the flowers are lip-petal-shaped and purple. The leaves are egg-shaped or heart-shaped. The stems and petioles have rough hairs. The mature seeds are released explosively from the fruit and spread by animals, humans, or in the soil. It is considered a naturalized plant in Australia.
