What is Abelia spathulata

Abelia spathulata (Abelia spathulata) is a deciduous shrub native to Japan and China, belonging to the genus Abelia in the family Caprifoliaceae. It grows naturally in sunny mountainous areas from Honshu to Shikoku and Kyushu in Japan. It produces two flowers with five sepals from the tips of the branches. The flowers are white with a yellow clan inside.
The sepals are red and oblong with five deep lobes that remain until later.
In comparison with A. spathulata, all five sepals of A. spathulata are the same size, while one of the five sepals of A. tetrasepala is smaller.
