What is Sinningia leucotricha

Sinningia leucotricha or Brazilian edelweiss (scientific name: Sinningia leucotricha) is a semi-tolerant perennial (tuberous succulent) plant native to the state of Paraná in Brazil, belonging to the genus Sinningia in the family WGesneriaceae. It is native to the cliffs of the Brazilian highlands, and is also called the "Queen of the Cliffs" because it blooms as if clinging to the shore. In spring, a flower stalk emerges from the tip of the tuber and produces four leaves covered with silver hairs. A few vermilion-red tubular flowers bloom from the center of the leaves. The flower stalks are long and narrow and covered with white hairs. The leaves fall off in winter, leaving only the tuber, which sprouts again in spring.
