What is Kaidzukaibuki

Kaidzukaibuki (Scientific name:Juniperus chinensis 'Kaizuka') is a cultivar of Juniperus chinensis, an evergreen coniferous tree native to China and native to Japan and China. The bark is reddish brown with longitudinal fissures and thin peels. It has an uneven trunk with cone-shaped twisted lateral branches. The leaves are scaled and crossed and have x-shaped white pores on the underside of the leaves. It is dioecious, with white green pebbled female flowers and light brown male flowers that grow singly at the ends of branches on each plant in spring. In the autumn after flowering, the fruits are small whitish-green balls that turn black as they ripen. The fruit contains two to four seeds. Propagation is increased by cuttings and grafting. It is planted as a park tree, hedge and garden tree.
