Rhododendron degronianum or Azuma shakunage (scientific name: Rhodododendron degronianum) is a mountainous to subalpine evergreen shrub in the amily Ericaceae , native to Japan. It is found in low to subalpine mountains and forests from 1,500 to 2,500 m in the northeastern and central regions of Honshu. In late spring and early summer, it produces a funnel-bell-shaped, five-segmented, reddish-purple flowers.
