King palm , scientific name:Archontophoenix alexandarae, is an evergreen tree of the archontophoenix genus ,of the Arecaceae native to Australia. It is a fast growing Palm. Ring-shaped stripes scars wrinkles, leafless stem and leaves. At the base of the stem is thicker. Sleek, beautiful leaves. Mature fruit turns red. Grows in forests in Queensland's natural habitat, but is used as a street tree in the tropics. Japanese fruit is similar to p. tomentosa; Scientific name is being presented to the Queen of the United Kingdom alexandora.
