What is Philadelphus satsumi

Philadelphus satsumi or Baika-utsugi (scientific name: Philadelphus satsumi) is native to Southeastern Europe and Asia Asia, and is a deciduous shrub of the family Hydrangeaceae. Some leaf color is green, yellow or even variegated. There are saw teeth on the leaf edge. From late spring to early summer, 5 to 10 white flowers similar to fragrant plums are made to bloom, spreading the divergent inflorescence from the tip of the twig. Utsgi which flower resembles plum is the origin of Japanese name. Besides four petals, there are also double flowers of garden cultivars.
