What is Yoko Zakura
Yoko Zakura (scientific name: Prunus campanulata 'Yoko') is native to Japan, and it is a deciduous shrub of the genus Prunus of the Rosaceae family. It is a garden cultivar crossed with Amagi Yoshino and Kan hizakura (scarlet cherry blossoms) of Satozakura . It was created by Mr. Masaaki Takaoka of Ehime Prefecture. It will flower a little earlier than Somei Yoshino. Flowers size are big, single bloom, fresh peach color, 3 to 4 flowers are attached downward. Flowering is from March to April.
