What is Sendaiya

Sendaiya (Scientific name: Cerasus jamasakura 'Sendaiya') is a cultivar of '{{Yamazakra}} (Scientific name: Prunus jamasakura)' of deciduous tree of Cerasus genus. Dr. Tomitaro Makino named the sakura in the garden of Sendaiya in Kochi. The leaves are red, the flowers are single-blooming, the flowers are darker than {{Somei Yoshino}}, and the flowers are larger than Somei. Flowering a few days later than Somei Yoshino.
