Potentilla matsumurae

Potentilla matsumurae or Miyama kinbai (scientific name: Potentilla matsumurae) is native to Japan, Kuril and Sakhalin and is an alpine perennial in the family Rosaceae. The rhizome is thick and gives out many root leaves. It grows naturally on rocky areas and grasslands in alpine areas north of Hokkaido to central Honshu in Japan. In summer, five yellow petals bloom.
The leaves are three-leaf bilobed and have serrated.
