Ginkgo biloba tree (scientific name: Ginkgo biloba L.) is native to China and is a deciduous tree of the family Ginkgoaceae. The leaves are fan-shaped with a distinct cut in the center. The leaves are green in early summer, fall to golden in autumn and fall in winter. A wind-borne flower in which pollen is scattered by the wind in different sexes. Male and female flowers appear at the same time as the leaves. Trees are considered to be prefectural (metropolitan) trees in Tokyo, and are used for the design of the University of Tokyo school emblem, metropolitan buses, garbage trucks, road fences, etc. Leaves are said to be effective in folk remedies for diabetes, nocturnal enuresis, cough, and chopping.
