What is Mimosa pudica

Mimosa pudica, Sensitive plant or Ojigisou (scientific name: Mimosa pudica L.) is native to Brazil and is a non-cold-tolerant annual or perennial plant in the family Fabaceae. Blooming pink small spherical flowers in summer. The flower name comes from the fact that when you touch the leaf, it appears to close and bow. Even at night, close the leaves and do a sleep exercise. Although it is a perennial growing in its place of origin, Japan is cultivated as an annual in horticulture because it is colder than Brazil. The stem has thorns and turns into wood. They prefer a sunny and well drained area and breed with spilled seeds. It is also called mimosa, but in Japan the acacia flower is called mimosa.
