Onion

Onion or Tamanegi (scientific name: Allium cepa) is native to Central Asia such as northwest India, and is a two-year grass or perennial plant of the family Amaryllidaceae. Rhizome vegetables to eat bulbs. In the early summer, the spherical scattering inflorescence stretching from the tip of the flower stalk will bloom by gathering many small white flowers such as bamboo shoots. Small flowers are six fpetals and white streaks have green streaks. Onions are sold as shipped once dried and stored for about a month after harvesting. When onion is cut,, there is a component called allylpropion, so tears come out because the lacrimal glands are stimulated. Because it sweetens when heated, it is used for curry dishes, Western-style hot dishes and onion soup. The new and fresh onion is one which was shipped directly as it was harvested in spring, has much moisture and little irritation, so it can be eaten raw vegetable salad or onion slice. Onion is nontoxic to humans, however giving food containing onions such as beef bowl to an animal such as a dog causes strength anemia and may even die.
