Abies firma or momi fir

Abies firma or momi fir (scientific name: Abies firma) is an endemic species of Japan and is an evergreen coniferous tree in the family Pinaceae. In the spring, yellow tufted male flowers bloom on the previous year's branches. The female flower has a green upright oval flower at the top of the previous branch. Pollen scatters from male flowers. Large cylindrical cones form after the flowers and ripen in October. Fir trees have a strong Christmas tree image, but in Europe German spruce (scientific name: Picea abies) is used. Fir is weak in air pollution, strong solar radiation and west sunshine, and its durability is poor due to its softness.
