What is Arachniodes aristata
Arachniodes aristata is an evergreen fern in the family Dryopteridaceae. It grows in clusters on the forest floor west of Kanto and other parts of Japan in dark, deciduous and somewhat dry places. Leaves are green and hard, with glossy leaf surfaces, three times pinnate compound leaves with deep lobes on the margins. The most apical part of the leaf has a so-called apex wing. Fewer ferns have spore sacs on the back of their leaves than other ferns because they breed on rhizomes.
Scientific name: Arachniodes aristata, origin: west of the Kanto region in Japan, environment: forest floor, type of life: evergreen fern, grass height: 50cm, leaf colour: green, foliage: hard and shiny, leaf shape: three-lobed compound leaves, leaf margins: deep lobes, spore sacs: few.
