What is Hatazakura

Hatazakura (scientific name: Cerasus serrulata 'Hatazakura') is a variety of Oshima cherry. It has a deformed flag petal with a male stamen, and its flowers are fragrant. Like the Oshima-zakura, it has medium to large white flowers with five petals and fragrance. It blooms about a week after Somei-Yoshino because it blooms when Oshima-zakura blooms.

Flower color: white, blooming style: single-petaled, number of petals: 5 plus flag petals, flower diameter: medium to large, blooming season: late March to early April.
