Cymbidium (scientific name: Cymbidium sp.) is native to Southeast Asia such as Nepal, India, Thailand, East Asia such as China. It is an evergreen perennial of the family Orchidaceae.
Japanese cymbidium is a new type of cymbidium that is a cross between the traditional cymbidium and the oriental ones. Extend long elliptical leaves from the false corm stem to the left and right, stretch the flower stem from the center, and bloom 7 to 30 wide beautiful flowers. Flower color is rich with white · yellow · peach · orange · red · brownish green. It is blooming from winter to spring as it is strong against drying and cold weather. In addition, it is almost annual because there are many imports from overseas. The leaves are slender, the flowers are brownish, and it is orchid with a calm atmosphere throughout. Flowers are good, flowers bloom one after another for 2 months. The common point of not only Cymbidium but Orchidacea flower has three petals called petals. Petal is two on the top, one on the bottom, the lower petal is called lip, or lip. "Cymbidium" which is the genus name of Cymbidium means "cymbe (boat) + eidos (shape)" in Latin, based on the fact that the lip shape resembles a boat.
