What is Gymnocalycium taningaense

Gymnocalycium taningaense is a small cactus of the genus Gymnocalycium of the cactus family Cactaceae, native to Argentina. The species name is derived from the name of a place called Taninga in the Sierra Grande Mountains of Cordoba Province, Argentina, where it is native. The stem (body) is a spherical shape with a stem diameter of 4.5 to 6 cm and a stem height of 2.5 to 4 cm. As a cactus, the stem has spines, and in the case of T. taningaense, there are one or two central spines and seven to ten radial spines. Multiple thin spines radiate from the stigma. A slender floral tube extends from the apex of the body and produces white flowers in spring.

Common name: Gymnocalycium taningaense, scientific name: Gymnocalycium taningaense, plant kingdom: Argentina, root: fibrous, stem (body) shape: oblong, stem diameter: 4.5-6 cm, stem height: 2.5-4 cm, stigma (aleole, hairs at the base of the spine): 9-11, flowering season: spring, flower color: white, flower length: 4-5.5 cm, flower diameter: 3-4.5 cm.
