Pinus oaxacana

Pinus oaxacana, Oaxacan pine, False white pine (scientific name: Pinus pseudostrobus var. oaxacana) is an evergreen tall tree in the family Pinaceae, which is native to southern Mexico. There are deep cracks in the bark. It is a type of five-leaf pine that has long, linear leaves with five bunches that hang down. They are dioecious. The female flowers are small red cones, called femle cone, at the tips of branches. The male flowers have a large number of rugby ball-shaped objects that are attached to the base of the branch. The pollen is carried by the wind to the female flowers for pollination. The flower is followed by an elongated cylindrical cone.
