What is 'Kankobai'

'Kankobai' (scientific name: Prunus mume 'Kankobai') is a cultivar of the deciduous small tree "">Prunus mume" in the family Rosaceae. Hanaume- Hibai-kei - Koubai-sho. , dark red, single/double-petaled, medium-flowered, early blooming (mid to late February). The tree is upright and of normal vigor. The flower color is not as scarlet as the scarlet-plum type, but more of a bright pink.
