Scilla peruviana (scientific name: Scilla peruviana) is a deciduous perennial in the genus Scilla of the family Hyacinthaceae, native to Africa, including regions from Portugal to Algeria and Tunisia.
In Japanese, it is called “Ootsurubo” (Great Vine Spike).

It grows to a height of 30 cm.
From March to June, it produces umbel-like inflorescences bearing deep blue-purple, six-petaled flowers about 2 cm in diameter.
It is used in flower beds, container gardens, and as a cut flower.
