Scutellaria 'Blue Fire'

Scutellaria 'Blue Fire' (scientific name: Scutellaria javanica 'Blue Fire') is a semi-cold hardy perennial herb of the genus Scutellaria of the family Lamiaceae native to Central America. It is a garden variety of Scutellaria javanica. The grass is 20-40 cm tall and spreads horizontally. The stem is 4-edged and red. The leaves are petiolate, slightly shiny green, oblong-ovate, with wavy serrations on the leaf margins, and attached in opposite pairs.
The flowers are produced from May to October in clustered blue lip-shaped inflorescences. The flowers resemble those of the tatsunamisou. After flowering, the plant produces 4 seeds.
