What is Xanthorrhoea preissii

Xanthorrhoea preissii , balga, grass tree or Black boy (Scientific name: Xanthorrhoea preissii) is a hardy evergreen tree in the family Asphodelaceae
native to Southwestern Australia. Twelve species are found in Australia. It produces long, shaggy, hair-like leaves radiating from the tree. The leaves are as stiff as chopsticks and stick to the stem. It is a slow-growing and long-lived plant that grows in sandy soil. Typical cultivars include australis (X.australis) and prissii (X.preissii).
