What is Calendula arvensis

Calendula arvensis or Fuyushirazu (scientific name: Calendula arvensis) is native to the Mediterranean coast and is hardy perennial grass of the family Asteraceae. It is a wild grass growing on agricultural land and roadside in the field. It is naturalized in Japan, growing in roadside and grassland in Japan, potted plant is also sold. It is strong, and it is possible to bloom bright yellow flowers one after another for a long period from winter to spring. Flowers are smaller than the annual grass calendula (golden flower) in the same genus. "Genus" "Calendula" is "calendae" in Latin , Species epithet "arvensis" means "cultivated field".
