What is Saussurea sessiliflora

Saussurea sessiliflora (scientific name: Saussurea sessiliflora) is an endemic species of Japan and is a perennial plant of the family Asteraceae in the genus Asteraceae. It is said to be a variant of thistle.
It grows naturally on subalpine to alpine meadows on the Sea of Japan side of the Tohoku and Chubu regions.
There is a wing on the long stem of the stem. I didn't know what flowers until the bract color turned black,
but when it blossoms, it blooms reddish purple and resembles a thistle.
The leaves are oval, and the leaves are alternating.
The white flower cultivar is called Shirobana black spruce (Shirahana black karahiren).
