Pleurotus djamor, pink oyster mushroom or flamingo mushroom (scientific name: Pleurotus djamor) is distributed throughout the world except in the Antarctic. It is a member in the family Pleurotaceae. It occurs from early summer to autumn on dead trees of broadleaf trees. It is a mushroom, so it does not have flowers but has tiny cylindrical pink or white spores. The umbrella is fan-shaped without a handle. Its name comes from the pink color of the mushroom, which resembles the bird crested ibis. It is called as "flamingo mushroom". This color is not removed by heating. It is edible and can be eaten raw or overheated.
