What is Maui wormwood
Maui wormwood (scientific name: Artemisia mauiensis) is a perennial plant native to the island of Maui, in the family Asteraceae. A rare species that grows only on top of Haleakala in the Hawaiian Islands, Maui, the leaves are covered with silvery feathers and look silvery. It is also called Maui wormwoo, the name of the flower after the native Maui, and Artemisia mauiensis, the scientific name for the wormwood of Maui. The name of the genus Artemisia comes from Artemis, the moon goddess in Greek mythology. It is of the same genus and is similar to Artemisia schmidtiana or Asagirisou (scientific name: Artemisia schmidtiana) with similar silvery leaves, but the wormwood is more woody.
