Kangaroo Paw (Scientific name: Anigozanthos spp.) is a perennial grass (bulb) of the family Haemodorum native to the southwestern part of Australia. A velvet-like flower blooms in a unique form like Kangaroo's paw, giving an elongated sharp leaf resembling a Iris japonica. The genus name "Anigozanthos" means Latin for "anoigo (open) + anthos (flower)". Flowering period blooms annually , and mainly from April to June and in December.
