What is Lachenalia mathewsii

Lachenalia mathewsii (scientific name: Lachenalia mathewsii) is native to South Africa, and it is a semi-cold resistant deciduous bulb plant of the genus Lachenalia of the family Asparagaceae. It grows naturally in the coastal area of the Cape province, and the plant height is as low as 30 cm or less. From winter to spring, take out two elongated spear-shaped leaves from the bulb, then the flower stem comes out from between the leaves, extend the spikes from the tip and add many florets. The flower has a fragrance, a bell shape with its tip broken, the flower color is yellow, the edge is white, and there are green spots at the tip of the petal. Leaves have no spots. The genus name "Lachenalia" is a contribution to Swiss botanist Bernard Lachenar.
