Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku'(Scientific name: Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku') is a cultivar of Japanese maple ( Scientific name: palmatum) which is a deciduous small tree of the family Sapindaceae.
The leaves of the Sango-kaku are small shrubs with tree height of 2 to 4 m. The leaves are palm-shaped, the sprouts are red, the fresh green is yellow-green, and yellow falls yellow to orange to golden in autumn. In the winter the bark of the new branch will turn red. The flower is reddish purple and is not conspicuous.
