What is Arachniodes borealis

Arachniodes borealis, scientific name: Arachniodes borealis, is a summergreen perennial herb native to the temperate regions of Japan, the Korean Peninsula, China, and Russia, belonging to the family Dryopteridaceae and the genus Arachniodes .
It grows naturally under forests and at forest margins in low mountains to mountainous areas in Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. The Japanese name "narai" comes from the name of the place where it was discovered, Kiso Narai.
The rhizome is rather long and creeping. The leaves are soft, 50-80 cm long, 30-40 cm wide, and pinnately lobed four times, with a broadly pentagonal leaf blade. It is listed as an endangered species.
