Ceanothus arboreus

Ceanothus arboreus, commonly called California lilac, (scientific name: Ceanothus arboreus) is anendemic to North and Central America, and is a shrub of the family Rhamnaceae, which belongs to the genus Cyanothus. The leaves are single leaves and the flowers are radiant. Actinomycetes live in root nodules and perform nitrogen fixation. During the American Revolutionary War, leaves were substituted for tea. The genus name "Ceonothus" is derived from the Latin word "kean ō thos" (a thorny plant). There is a date in the same department.
