Cirsium purpuratum

Cirsium purpuratum or Fuji thistle, scientific name: Cirsium purpuratum, is a wild perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. It grows wild on riverbanks, sandy gravels, and collapsed areas on and around Mt. It has sharp spines on its stems and leaves, and its stems have wings. In summer, it produces several red head flowers at the ends of spherical, sharply linear spines on the tips of its bracts at the ends of its branches. The genus name "Cirsium" and the species name "purpuratum" mean "purple" in Latin.
