What is Crocus

Crocus (scientific name: Crocus) is native to Mediterranean coast to Small Asia and is a cold-resistant perennial plant (bulb plant) of the Iridaceae Crocus genus. In early spring, it brings flowers with six petals with low plant height on the ground. The thin linear leaves also grow at the same time as flowering. The genus "Crocus" comes from the Latin "Krokos", which is due to the long stretching of the stamen in filiform form.
Representative varieties include Crocus vernus (purple flower) and Crocus chrysanthus (yellow flower). The flower language is "pleasure of youth".

It is similar to the same family {{Saffron}} (scientific name: Crocus sativus L.), but saffron blooms in autumn and red stamens become high class spices.

● Crocus vernus (scientific name: Crocus vernus) Purple and white flowers bloom in the origin of the cherubicus. Spring blooming Bernus is popular as "Spring Telling Flower". Species "vernus" means the Latin word "Spring, spring in spring".

● Crocus chrysanthus (scientific name: Crocus chrysanthus) - Early blooming yellow crocuses, flowering a week before Bernus (C. vernus). Species "hrysanthus " means" turn yellow flowers, golden flowers ".

Generic name: Crocus, Scientific name: Crocus, origin: Mediterranean-Asia minor, height: 7 to 15 cm, flowering period: February to March, flower diameter: 4 - 5 cm, aperture: white, purple, white and purple、yellow.
