Crotalaria assamica

Crotalaria assamica (Crotalaria assamica) is an annual plant of the family Fabaceae, native to eastern India. The plant is about 150 cm tall. The stems are erect and have many branches. The leaves are elliptic to oblong with a rounded tip and a pair of mendicant leaves at the base of the leaf. From summer to autumn, the inflorescence grows from the top of the flower stalk and produces 20 to 30 bright yellow butterfly-shaped flowers. The flowers are followed by a pea-like fruit. The fruit capsules are plump and have conspicuous black longitudinal stripes. There are no edible beans in the pod. The language of flowers is "charming.
