What is Epigaea asiatica

Epigaea asiatica , commonly called as Iwanashi or Trailing Arbutus, scientific name:Epigaea asiatica Maxi, is an endemic to Japana and small evergreen shrub of the department Ericaceae Epigaea genus. It grows in the forestat of rocky mountains on the sea side from Hokkaido to Honshu in Japan. Stalk has a reddish-brown, rough hairs. In the early summer from spring it lets pink flowers bloom on the racemes .It cracks 5 parts at the top of the tube-shaped flowers and spread out. After flowers , small fruits are performed and they are eaten and their taste are similar to pears. The origin of the name is grows in Rocky, depends on the taste of the fruit is similar to pear.
