“Sour Memories” Sorrel

by Aqua

At the edge of a small field,
The sorrel swayed in the wind.

In a place no one noticed,
Yet it stood there, firmly rooted.

One day, a child came by,
Plucked a leaf, and gently placed it in their mouth.

“Sour... but I kinda like it.”

Seeing that face, the sorrel smiled softly.

Sour tastes a little bittersweet.
But it's a flavor that stays with you.

Blown by the wind, the sorrel thought:
"To be unforgettable—surely,
that alone is a happy thing."

Aqua's Afterword
Huuu...🍃💭
Aqua thinks the sorrel's sourness
is just like an “unforgettable memory.”
A little bittersweet, yet somehow warm.
