What is Celebes

Celebes (scientific name: Colocasia esculenta 'Celebes') is a non-cold-tolerant taro of the family Araceae, native to Indonesia. It is a species of taro introduced from the island of Celebes (now Sulawesi) in Indonesia. It is a tall, red-stemmed taro with a greenish-purple petiole and a red bud. In summer, the flower stalk emerges vertically from the axillary buds of the parent taro with pale yellow bracts and inflorescences at the tip.
The flowers are similar to those of the {{anthurium}} and {{color}}.
