What is Wakame seaweed

Wakame is not a flower that blooms on land, but it is a sea plant that is often eaten in Japan, so it is treated here as well.

Wakame is a seaweed belonging to the brown algae family. Therefore, it is brown in color in the sea. Most people's image of raw wakame is that it is green, but wakame does not turn green until it is heated. Wakame sold in stores as "raw wakame" has already been heated, so it is not really called "raw wakame. The correct term is "wakame that has been soaked in hot water. Please watch this video.
